Decibel Meter uses the device microphone to measure surrounding sound in real time, showing the current level, minimum, average, maximum, and elapsed time together. Measurements can be saved to history, include coordinates after location permission is granted, and be shared through the system share sheet. It is useful for checking sound levels at home, in an office, or while studying, and for comparing readings from different times and places.
Once measurement begins, the app continuously reads microphone input and displays the current decibel level. Minimum, average, maximum, and elapsed time update alongside it, keeping short changes and the overall level visible on one screen.
A decibel number can be difficult to interpret on its own, so the app relates readings to familiar environments and sound levels. The reference gives everyday context while you measure, making the current range easier to understand.
Completed measurements can be saved to history for later comparison across different times. With location permission, a record can include its coordinates, and the system share sheet sends the result when you need to pass it on.
